Human Agenda held its Seventh Annual Break the Mold Conference at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library in early October 2024, critiquing the accelerating inequality in the U.S. and focusing on DECKS alternatives such as CalCare, land trusts, and worker-owned cooperatives. Popular Hot Topic Roundtables have been held on the genocide in Gaza and the attack on immigrants. Human Agenda was a co-sponsor of AB 2240, a bill signed into law by Governor Newsom improving the housing and education conditions of migrant farmworkers, and Human Agenda participated at every step of the legislative process, such as testifying in Sacramento. This was the logical conclusion of the many Farmworker Reality Tours that Human Agenda has joined from 2008 to 2023. Human Agenda has also participated in International Workers Day and policy initiatives regarding immigration reform, single-payer health care, a woman’s right to choose, social housing, LGBTQ+ justice, criminal justice reform, ending caste discrimination, and peace. Based on its values, Human Agenda took a position on all of the November California propositions.
